In this case, it is difficult to give a general price without knowledge of the state of your existing photograph and what you wish to use the restored photograph for. To give you some idea, restoration of a 6 x 4 inch photograph with a few scratches, perhaps a tear or fold line would cost £10. However, old hand coloured photographs may need to be hand coloured again. This will obviously be more expensive. The price will also depend on the size of the photograph. It is also possible to enlarge some photographs and still retain acceptable sharpness and detail. This is particularly so for Victorian and early 20th century photographs. (Please see the corresponding Information section for further details). The photograph from circa 1918 in my gallery of restored photographs is just 3 x 2 but has withstood enlarging up to 16 x 11 (approx A3) size. With suitable mounting the picture size for wall mounting would go up to 27 x 20. Such a picture restored and framed to archival standards in your choice of designer frame would cost around £160 - £200 depending upon the damage and choice of frame.
